Building two skateparks & running youth programmes for marginalized kids in northern Peru.

Reaching over 300 children through our Edu-Skate programme + providing a safe haven and social hub for hundreds more.

Running our Apprenticeship programme during the builds: teaching local adolescents the skatepark construction process while earning a wage.

The Programmes

While only building a skatepark can undoubtedly provide a positive impact for individuals and communities, CJF has long observed that in order to truly provide socio-economic benefit, an investment into youth programming at the site is required. This is why we always facilitate positive youth development (PYD) programming at our project locations - through skateboarding.

Edu-Skate

CJF’s flagship youth development programme will run at the Cerrito Skatepark, offering skateboarding and life-skills classes to children aged 6-16. We expect to reach some 300 children per year through the daily classes.
Read more about the programme here.

Planting Seeds Apprenticeship

Offering paid apprenticeship programmes for youth aged 16+ in photography and videography, editing and multimedia production, entrepreneurship and project management, as well as skatepark construction and maintenance. Read more about the programme here.

Homework Club

In partnership Otra Cosa Network and Moomin Language School we will also facilitate a new homework and English-teaching programme, offering technology-enabled lessons for the children at the skatepark.
