CJFamily

The CJFamily is our global community of monthly supporters that share our vision of skateboarding as a force for good.

What is it?

By donating 5€ or more a month you become a CJFamily Member, support the hundreds of children we work with every week, and help build more skateparks for communities around the world that stand to benefit the most.

All CJFamily Members also get special consideration for volunteering and builds, early-bird access to our documentaries, and a 25% discount on everything on our online shop.

Impact

With the support of the CJFamily, we have over the past five years been able to…

  • Build 6 free-of-charge skateparks for youth communities in Peru, Angola, Jamaica and Morocco.
  • Directly impact 1081 children and adolescents through 775+ sessions as part of our recreational and educational programmes (see for e.g. Edu-Skate)
  • Provide 15 paid apprenticeships to youth in need as part of the Planting Seeds Apprenticeship.
  • Achieve an average of 33% female participation across all our programmes
  • Actively employ 19 local adolescents and young adults across our project locations

FAQ

Between April 2021-April 2022, Concrete Jungle Foundation’s total funds were used as follows:

  • Admin & fixed costs: 11%
  • Fundraising: 12%
  • Skatepark building: 38%
  • Youth programmes: 39%

Our finances are independently examined every year by an external accountant and publicly available online via the Charity Commission for England and Wales.

We are working hard to secure corporate sponsorship to the extent that 100% of CJFamily contributions could go to youth programmes & skatepark building, but we aren’t quite there yet. If you know of a company that could help us reach that goal, please get in touch!

Where does the money go (2022)?

As of July 2022, there are approximately 150 CJFamily Members from across 24 countries. We follow privacy regulations and so can’t reveal more than that.

When considering volunteering placements for both skatepark construction and youth programmes management, CJFamily Members are given priority.

The discount code is sent to new CJFamily Members via email. It is updated and sent again every year.

If you want! For those that indicate their interest to stay up to date, we send email updates around 3-4 times per year. Members are also invited to the CJFamily’s Annual General Meeting, where we provide a complete overview and a FAQ session on our work over the previous year :)
