Our first ever cryptocurrency fundraiser
As anyone involved in the non-profit world will tell you, fundraising is challenging.
At CJF, we’re constantly on the lookout for innovative ways to secure the resources necessary to support the communities we work with. And to that end, we’re today very excited to announce a new partnership in support of the Freedom Skatepark Project.
The BitGive Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organisation and online donation platform that leverages cryptocurrency and blockchain technology for NGOs. In essence, their platform allows registered non-profit organisations to receive donations in Bitcoin and in many different cryptocurrencies to realise their social projects.
Prior to working with us, BitGive has held partnerships with several well-known nonprofits including Save the Children, The Water Project, Medic Mobile, and many more.
Together with our new partner we’ve set up a cryptocurrency fundraiser to help finance the upcoming Edu-Skate Programme in Jamaica. The $10,000 goal can cover 3 months of programme implementation and staff training, 1 year of salary for the local Programme Manager, and the provision of 5 Edu-Skate classes/week to a maximum of 280 students, for a year.
